SUCCESSFUL VIRTIMO MACO CLUB 2023 TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION ON NEW REQUIREMENTS BY BSI AS4.
With the GeLi 2.0 announcement, the Bundesnetzagentur decided just a few days ago that gas network operators should also switch to AS4.
Virtimo AG has been bringing together representatives from the energy sector every year since 2018 to address the current challenges of market communication. With the GeLi 2.0 announcement of November 22, 2023, the Bundesnetzagentur has now also decided on the AS4 transition for gas network operators by 2025, following the mandatory productive operation for companies in the electricity sector. By the end of 2024, the changes will also be mandatory in electricity schedule management, which was previously exempt from the regulations.
The event focused on the implementation of the AS4 message protocol using the Virtimo Communication Service [VICOS]. With VICOS, Virtimo AG offers energy companies a scalable shared service for the complete mapping of market communication in accordance with national and international legal requirements. The functionality has been consistently expanded in line with national and international legal requirements – most recently against the backdrop of the mandatory introduction of AS4 in the German electricity market by October 2023 by the BSI and BDEW.
The event program was accompanied by guest presentations from Thyssengas GmbH, Gascade Gastransport GmbH and the AKTIF group of companies on the latest developments in the electricity, gas and hydrogen markets, both in Germany and at European level. The Virtimo Mako Club’s goal of promoting an intensive exchange between those responsible for market communication in order to benefit from each other’s experiences was once again achieved in 2023.
